The Frieze of the Apollo Temple at Bassai

 A frieze of 23 plates, 70-cm high, surrounded the inside of the cella at Bassai. In loose sequence it shows scenes from the fights with the Amazons on the southern and eastern wall, and the fights between the Lapithes and the Centaurs on the western wall of the cella. The plates are in the British Museum in London.
