Bosch, The Prodigal Son or The Pedlar, 1494
Bosch, Christopheros, 1504

These four wings of a large poliptych are Bosch's last major work, painted two years before his death. It is a key-work for the understanding of his life. I discuss this “reading” in a collection of essays on the Bosch Exibition 2001 at the Boymans.
Pieter Breugel the Elder, The “Little” Tower of Babel, 1563
Rembrandt,
Titus, 1655
